A chat assistant, an editor, and images or clips you have permission to use. Still images work for the first pass.
Why this lesson exists
The hospital-room creative experiment shows that a small story can matter more than technical spectacle. This exercise uses a fictional story and a modest production scope.

Write the purpose
Finish the sentence “After watching, the viewer should feel or understand…” Choose one idea and an audience. Avoid using private stories without permission.
Plan three beats
Write an opening situation, a change and a closing image. Limit the first version to about twenty seconds and specify what must remain consistent between shots.
Build a still-image edit
Place three approved images on a timeline. Add your own narration or simple captions. Watch the sequence before spending on generated motion.
Review the exported file
Check that the exported video plays, text is readable and sound is understandable. Record any character drift or claim that the visuals could misrepresent.
A prompt to adapt
Replace the bracketed parts with your own practice details.
Plan a twenty-second fictional video for [audience] with this takeaway: [takeaway]. Give three beats, each with purpose, image, narration and transition. Use only these available assets: [assets]. Keep identities and location consistent. Include a review checklist before generating motion.
What this looks like
A seed being planted, watered and sprouting can explain iteration. Three unrelated beautiful landscapes do not automatically tell that story.
Check your result
Use evidence from your output. A confident explanation from the AI is not enough.
- The viewer can state the central idea.
- The still-image sequence works before motion is added.
- The final exported file has been watched.
If it isn’t working
If the story only makes sense after a long explanation, simplify the middle beat. If continuity drifts, reuse an approved reference and correct the specific mismatch.
