Before you start

A chat assistant and one page of an official course guide or other reliable source. Voice or music generation is optional.

Why this lesson exists

Patrick’s certification-study posts used voice and songs as memory aids. The useful checkpoint is explaining and applying a concept without the aid.

Do the exercise

  1. Pick one concept

Choose a topic small enough for a short session. Paste the relevant source excerpt and write what you must be able to explain or do.

  2. Explain it simply

Ask for a plain-language explanation and one concrete example. Compare both with the source. Correct omissions before creating flashcards or a mnemonic.

  3. Practice recall

Close the explanation. Answer five questions one at a time, in text or voice. Ask for feedback only after each attempt, with a reference to the source.

  4. Test a new case

Apply the concept to an unfamiliar example. Record mistakes for the next session. A song can cue memory, but it cannot substitute for this transfer test.

A prompt to adapt

Replace the bracketed parts with your own practice details.

Use only this source to tutor me on [concept]: [excerpt]. Explain it with one example, then quiz me one question at a time. Wait for my answer. Cite the source when correcting me. Finish with a new application problem and a list of mistakes to revisit.

What this looks like

Remembering the words “authentication versus authorization” is a start. Explaining why a signed-in user still cannot open another user’s record shows understanding.

Check your result

Use evidence from your output. A confident explanation from the AI is not enough.

  • Feedback is grounded in the source.
  • You answer before seeing the solution.
  • You can solve a new case without the mnemonic.

If it isn’t working

If the tutor introduces unsupported facts, ask it to identify the exact source passage. Verify exam objectives with the official provider; a generated quiz does not prove certification readiness.
