OUTCOME
Make a simple diagram whose labels and relationships can be traced to your notes.

A chat assistant, a short fictional transcript and paper or a diagram editor.

1. Extract before designing
Ask for the people, decisions, sequence and unresolved questions in the notes. Correct this list before generating a diagram.

2. Choose the right shape
Use a timeline for sequence, a table for comparisons and a flowchart for branching decisions. Ask why the selected format fits the question.

3. Limit the visual
Use five to seven main elements and short labels. Mark uncertain relationships with a question or dotted line rather than drawing them as facts.

4. Trace it back
Compare every label and arrow with the source. Give the visual to another person and ask them to explain the process without your narration.
